This is the first half of a group Lord of the Rings Orcs that were painted for my Forces of Evil. I am basing the figures to match the orcs I painted a while back. The figures were produced by Harlequin Miniatures. The company had the rights to LOTRs before Games Workshop purchased them. IMO the Harlequin figures were a better interpretation of the books than Peter Jackson's vision. I like many received an introduction to both LOTRs and DnD in high school, I always wanted to field a force on the tabletop. I admit that I have freely mixed both major brands in my collection.
There is one thing worse than painting miniatures, and that is to have unpainted miniatures. Captain's Blog will provide an audience, or in other words motivation, to stimulate my war game miniature painting productivity. In Halifax, we had a great group of gamers and we were constantly in competition with each other. I do not have the same community support in Montreal. I hope that by blogging regularly that I will force myself to paint more. Are you up to the challenge? Pick up a brush.
